Kristoffer Ajer to AC Milan is all over the Italian sport media on Saturday.
The Celtic defender has been linked with an exit for some months, and there was previously frustration at Serie A clubs over what the Scottish Premiership side were asking for.
Initial claims from Italy suggested Celtic would want more than €20m for their player, but it’s now thought they’d consider a loan with a buying option of around €15m.
Whether that’s true, or simply optimism on behalf of Milan, remains to be seen, but there are already claims about a possible replacement.
Omar Colley has been linked to Celtic on and off for a while, with SampNews24 bringing several exclusives about interest from Glasgow. They now say that Celtic ‘formulated an offer’ at some stage, of around €10-12m.
That wasn’t considered enough by Sampdoria, however, Ajer’s situation could bring things back to life.
According to SampNews24, Ajer’s exit would open the doors for Colley again, and it’s certainly a realistic stance to take.
