Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Rocco Reitz has poured cold water on reports linking him with a move to Brighton and Hove Albion or anywhere else.
SportBILD have an interview with the player today in which he insists he doesn’t see why he would leave the German club this summer.
Reitz has found himself the subject of interest from several clubs ahead of the summer after impressing for Gladbach this season.
The 22-year-old is very much on the rise and reports at the end of November and in December suggested that Manchester City were keeping an eye on him.
Brighton were then brought into the mix in December too, with it explained they had joined the other sides in watching the midfielder, who has a release clause worth €20m set to come into effect in 2026.
Whether Brighton or anyone else moves for him in the near future remains to be seen, although the Seagulls may find themselves needing to replace the likes of Carlos Baleba before too long.
It seems Reitz has no interest in the reports either way, insisting that he sees no reason to move on at this point.
“At the moment, there’s nothing against it (staying where he is),” he said.
“I’ve been at the club for over 15 years, I feel extremely comfortable, and I know everyone there. I can’t think of any reason why I should have other plans.”
