During the approach to, and at the start of, the January transfer window, there were multiple reports from the Genoa media that Ronaldo Vieira could be set for a return to Leeds United.
The player has had a terrible period with injuries, and saw a move to Sheffield United fail last year due to medical concerns, and it was thought a move back to the Yorkshire club was what was desired, with them ready to help him get his career back on track.
Now it’s not thought that will be the case, and a stay at Sampdoria is likelier.
However, there’s a been a development… Ronaldo Vieira has returned to the pitch.
He made a brief appearance against Spezia Calcio on Sunday, and that was the first time he’d taken to the pitch since February 2021.
Given he’s now got the chance of match time in Serie A, he no longer needs rescuing by Leeds United.
