Burnley are interested in French midfielder Han-Noah Massengo, according to reports from his home country’s media.

It’s outlet Foot Mercato who today feature some news ahead of the 21-year-old’s free agency.

Back in January, even though there were only six months left on his contract with Bristol City, he was loaned to AJ Auxerre. Now it seems he’s not renewing with the English club and not joining the French side on a permanent deal either, and is free to choose his next destination.

Foot Mercato then writes that he could be joining Burnley, as Vicent Kompany ‘particularly appreciates’ his profile.

The Clarets like his good experience in English football and are ‘seriously considering recruiting him’ in the coming weeks as a free agent.

Massengo had 110 appearances for Bristol City, but wasn’t being much used this season, and that’s why he made the choice for a short loan spell in France. There, he played 14 games in his short time.

Burnley may be very active in the transfer market following promotion, and it seems they’re also attentive to the free scenarios that show up on their table.
