Last Friday, Brighton & Hove Albion sold Neal Maupay to Everton and the Frenchman’s exit leaves Graham Potter with Danny Welbeck, Deniz Undav and Florin Andone as the three recognised strikers currently at his disposal.

Andone spent the previous two seasons on loan at Galatasaray and Cádiz and has now returned to The Amex. He has not featured for the Seagulls this campaign, and that situation could see them try to bring in a new forward before the window closes on Thursday.

That’s what Brighton seem to have done if the latest report from Alfredo Pedullà is to be believed. It’s claimed the Premier League side are trying to sign Bologna’s Musa Barrow.

Torino were keen on signing the Gambia international and were ready to offer €10m to their Serie A counterpart. This figure didn’t please Bologna as they have set a demand of €15m to take the forward away from the club.

Potter’s side have arrived at the scene. ‘In the last few hours’, Brighton’s interest in the player has materialised and they would want to take Barrow on a loan deal with obligation to buy.

The figure the English club will have to offer should not be below €15m [overall cost of the deal including loan fee plus fee to make the deal permanent]. If Brighton can meet Bologna’s request, then a deal could be carried out soon.
