On Sunday, Corriere dello Sport reported Brighton & Hove Albion have burned the competition from Fulham to sign Fiorentina’s Igor Julio.

There are fresh developments expected to take place in the Seagulls’ pursuit of the 25-year-old.

According to FirenzeViola.it, these are ‘very hot hours’ for the centre-back to get ‘ever closer to moving’ to Brighton.

It’s claimed the two clubs will have fresh contact on Monday to try and close the deal for the Brazilian’s transfer, at a fee around €15-17m.

The website adds the ‘final details’ are missing between Roberto De Zerbi’s side and the Serie A club to find an agreement. In addition to this, Brighton will also have to agree a deal with the defender.

These two issues are expected to be sorted out soon as FirenzeViola.it say there’s growing confidence the operation will be concluded in the ‘next few days’.

Furthermore, Calciomercato.it say Igor and the Premier League side have ‘already agreed’ a four-year deal with an option for another year.

They add the deal to take Igor to The Amex is ‘heading towards closure’ and there could be more developments on Monday.

With all parties wanting the deal to take shape, this operation should be concluded soon.
