Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has insisted he is happy to remain at the club next season but will sit down and discuss a move if any offers are made for him this summer.
The Argentine midfielder has sat down for an interview with ESPN to discuss his career, Brighton, and a potential transfer in future.
He’s been a star man for the Seagulls this season as they’ve shone under Roberto de Zerbi, playing a key role and impressing on numerous occasions.
His growing reputation was also added to at the World Cup in Qatar, where he started out of the team but was brought in and went on to establish himself as a key player in Argentina’s eventual success.
Indeed his own father has admitted it is unlikely that he will be at Brighton next season but Mac Allister has rowed back on that idea, insisting he’d have no issue staying where he is.
“The truth is that I am very happy at the club. I try not to think about the future,” he said.
“We have almost two months coming up where we have very important games and I want to be focused on that. I know there is a lot of talk and I think it’s normal after winning the World Cup.
“There was already a lot of talk in the January transfer window. But I’m very calm. I focus on playing, on training every day, on continuing to improve. As I said, I respect Brighton a lot.
“I respect this club a lot because I am very grateful. Then in the summer, we will see. If an offer comes that can be good for the club and for me, we will sit down and talk and if not I will stay very happy at this club.”
