With Jeremy Sarmiento and Moises Caicedo already in the squad, it seems Brighton & Hove Albion are interested in signing one more Ecuadorian player.
The reports come from South America, where journalist Andres Ponce claims the Seagulls are keen on signing Los Angeles FC midfielder José Cifuentes.
It’s said that with the 23-year-old being one of the best players in MLS, several European clubs have been watching his development, and Brighton are reportedly one of them.
The interest from Premier League clubs isn’t a surprise, as last weekend, we covered reports which claimed Leeds United and Leicester City are keen on Cifuentes. That story had already warned about the big competition for the player.
Now besides reporting Brighton’s interest, Ponce also points out the chase from the Whites, so there may soon be a battle for the Ecuadorian. Even though he’s only valued by Transfermarkt at €3m, it’s clear he could move for a lot more.
