FC Copenhagen want to sign Brentford’s Mathias Jørgensen this summer.
The Denmark international has been restricted to less than 1,100 minutes of action in the league over the last three seasons. He has less than a year left on his deal and could return to his country this summer.
That’s according to Tipsbladet, who say Copenhagen have agreed a deal with Brentford over signing the 34-year-old. They make no mention of the fee the Bees will collect from his sale.
It’s further claimed the Danish club have agreed a two-year deal with the defender. As well as his profile, his experience and the leadership qualities could also be vital for them this season.
The centre-back has had three spells at Copenhagen and there’s optimism to bring him back to the club so that he can start his fourth spell with them.
They are close to securing his services and the report says ‘all that is needed’ to make the deal official is for Thomas Frank’s side to find Jørgensen’s replacement in this window. Tipsbladet haven’t provided any insight on Brentford’s search for a new centre-back.
