On Monday, we covered a report from Turkey stating that Galatasaray had made a new offer for Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombélé after Fenerbahçe sealed the arrival of Fred.
The Turkish rivals were both after the Spurs man, and having seen one strengthen their midfield with the Brazilian, it was logical for the other to press on and get a deal for the Frenchman over the line.
However, as Aksam report on Tuesday, Fenerbahçe, who were previously adamant they were going to sign both Fred and the Tottenham midfielder, have made their own move.
Previously putting €10m on the table and being told by Tottenham that €15m would be needed, Fenerbahçe will now, through their football branch manager Selahattin Baki, ‘sit down with Tottenham again and revise the final offer to €13m’ in what is seen as a ‘bargaining time’ between the two clubs.
In fact, there is a belief that this figure is considered enough ‘to be certain that the transfer will be concluded’.
Therefore, it seems that Aksam have been told that the €13m will be accepted and the transfer will be able to go through at that price.
The ball is now in Galatasaray’s court, who will now have to try and match that if they want to avoid losing out on yet another target to their fierce rivals.
