Aston Villa have become the latest English club to be credited with interest in Sofyan Amrabat after the Fiorentina player was linked to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Atlético Madrid showed interest in him but the option to join the La Liga side ‘cools down’ after the parties made no progress in talks.

That’s according to Viola News, who state the ‘Premier League solution remains alive’ for the 26-year-old, where Aston Villa, Manchester United and Tottenham are all in the mix to sign him.

It’s claimed Unai Emery’s side and the two other English clubs have ‘tested the ground’ for the Morocco international, without making it clear if the Premier League trio made contact with the Italian club, the player’s camp or both.

The midfielder’s deal lasts until 2024 and the Serie A side have an option to extend for a year. The report states Fiorentina are standing firm with their valuation and need at least €30m to sanction his sale.

Viola News add none of Aston Villa, Erik ten Hag’s side or Tottenham have yet made an offer to sign Amrabat.
