Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard has just over 15 months left on his contract and the north London club are looking to offer him an extension.
In September, the Belgium international reportedly received an offer from Al-Ittihad. The latest claims in the UK have said the Saudi club could make a fresh move for him in the summer window.
Voetbal Krant, after relaying this, provide their own updates on Arsenal’s plan for the 30-year-old.
They state the Gunners and the forward sat at the negotiating table in recent months but weren’t able to reach an agreement for his renewal.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion man, for his part, would be open to considering an offer from the Middle East.
On the other hand, the Premier League club are aiming to renew his contract. The report states Mikel Arteta’s side want to resume contract negotiations with him in the ‘coming weeks’.
Taking the offer that he could receive from Saudi Arabia into account, Voetbal Krant claim it doesn’t seem to be easy for Arsenal to convince Trossard to sign an extension.
This could be the Belgian’s last big contract of his playing career, and he will have to make a decision.
