It seems there could still be a little bit of hope for Arsenal to sign Pablo Mari from Flamengo.
Earlier today, reports from the Brazilian press said the transfer was about to collapse, since the player had returned to Brazil and was expected to make it for the first training session of the year with the Rio de Janeiro side.
However, as reported by UOL, Mari hasn’t joined his teammates at Flamengo’s training centre, and ‘the talks for his future go on’.
UOL claims that the Spaniard is still trying to sort out his departure to Arsenal, even though there’s no agreement between the clubs so far.
Mari had been in London at the weekend to complete his transfer and go through a medical with the Gunners. Flamengo had no problems with his trip, even though they knew there wasn’t an agreement yet.
Claims from Brazil say Flamengo expect to make €10m with the sale, and one of the problems was that Arsenal were pushing for a loan deal.
Talks, whilst wobbling, continue.
