Arsenal may be interested in Grêmio midfielder Bitello, according to reports from Brazil.

Radio Guaiba, relayed by Portal do Gremista, claims the Gunners had a scout watching the 23-year-old on Sunday.

That was perhaps not the best game to watch a Grêmio player, since they were defeated 2-0 at home by Botafogo.

The report doesn’t bring any details on what the Arsenal representatives thought of Bitello’s performance.

What we can say is that he was one of the best players the Tricolor had on the pitch, being helpful in defence and creating plays, despite his constant loss of possession.

As reported by Portal do Gremista, Grêmio want at least €10m to negotiate the player’s exit. Then aren’t keen on making big discounts, since they only have 70% of the transfer rights.

Bitello is now 23-years-of-age and may be at the age limit to get signed by a club like Arsenal, so it sounds like the Gunners would either come for him this summer or this chase wouldn’t go on for too long.

The youngster has been playing on the right wing, but can work in multiple positions in midfield.
