Earlier today, Calciomercato reported Arsenal have had several contacts with Joshua Zirkzee’s entourage.
The Gunners are thought to be very keen and are ready to break into the race to sign the Bologna star in the next window.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who state Arsenal have sent officials to keep close tabs on the striker and they are pleased with his performances.
He’s managed 12 goals and seven assists this season and the north London club are ‘ready to accelerate’ to secure his services.
As well as Arsenal, several other clubs have been chasing the Dutchman and it includes AC Milan and Juventus. In addition to this, emissaries from Aston Villa and Manchester United have also looked at him.
Tuttosport say Arsenal have him on top of their list, largely because his profile and qualities would suit Mikel Arteta’s style of play.
Zirkzee is managed by Kia Joorabchian, who seems to have a good relationship with the London club, and the two parties are in contact. It’s claimed the agent has a five-year deal on the table, worth €6m per year plus bonuses, and it’s not the first time that’s been stated.
Bayern Munich have a buyback option, but the player isn’t keen on returning to his former club.
Tuttosport believe Arsenal are serious and their aim is to make a decisive move in the coming weeks to burn competition for the Bologna frontman.
