It’s no secret Arsenal are one of the clubs in the race for Vitor Roque, as several reports from Brazil claimed the Gunners are interested in the Athletico Paranaense youngster.

Now as the race for the 18-year-old heats up, it’s probably time for Mikel Arteta’s side to start moving more seriously for the signing.

An update on this battle is brought by Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo. There, it’s claimed that Arsenal are ‘pushing hard’ and ‘well positioned’, but ‘not that much’.

That may be a red light for the Gunners, because according to the outlet, Chelsea are now ‘moving quickly’ to get the signing done.

Even Barcelona, who were said to be leading that race for weeks, are now having things ‘complicated’ by this new effort from the Blues.

Athletico Paranense are sounding pretty neutral at this point, as they’ll just analyse what’s on their table this summer and sell Vitor Roque to the best bidder.

Mundo Deportivo make it clear Chelsea are going serious now, so Arsenal and Edu Gaspar better get prepared to overcome the Blues in this big auction.
