For several days the Catalan media have been reporting on the possibility of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arriving at Barcelona on loan for the rest of the season.
On Sunday morning, we covered a report from Mundo Deportivo, which stated the Blaugrana had ‘everything agreed’ with both Arsenal and the forward.
The big problem was Ousmane Dembele, and it was explained the Frenchman would need to depart if Barcelona were to complete a deal for his former Borussia Dortmund teammate.
Claims then came from England backing up the possibility of a deal, and now Catalan newspaper Sport have what they present as the latest on the situation.
Sport say Aubameyang is so keen on playing for Xavi Hernandez’s side that he’s willing to move ‘practically for free’, and give up a big chunk of the salary he currently earns with Arsenal.
Dembele doesn’t seem keen to leave before the window closes, despite being asked to, therefore the ‘only formula’ to sign the Gunners man if he plays for a relatively small amount.
Unlike earlier reports, Sport say that the details of a deal still need to be concluded with Arsenal, and then Aubameyang stick to his pay-cut idea and try to manoeuvre through the La Liga FFP rules to squeeze through a transfer to Barcelona.
