Alexandre Lacazette will have a year left on his contract at Arsenal in the summer.
Despite scoring 11 goals and registering three assists in all competitions this season, the forward’s future could be away from the north London club.
According to Calciomercato, the 29-year-old is a ‘dream’ target for AS Roma.
The Giallorossi are looking at strengthening their striker force in the next market as it’s not certain for Edin Džeko and Borja Mayoral [on loan from Real Madrid] to be at the Italian capital club beyond this season.
Fioretnina’s Dušan Vlahović is the ‘strong candidate’ to lead Roma’s attack next season. Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca, who is now on loan at Genoa, and Torino’s Andrea Belotti are also identified as targets.
The ‘dream’ signing for Paulo Fonseca’s side, however, as per the report, is Mikel Arteta’s frontman.
It’s claimed the Frenchman has been ‘close to Roma for years’, but the next market would be the ‘right time’ for the Serie A side to sign the ex-Lyon man because Lacazette and Arsenal could be heading towards a separation.
Calciomercato’s report comes two days ago after reports from Italy explained Arsenal have identified Eintracht Frankfurt star André Silva as a potential successor for Lacazette.
