Now that we all know Aaron Ramsey will be signing for Juventus in the summer, clubs will be aware Arsenal will be in need of replacing the Welshman in some shape or form.
Still featuring under Unai Emery, the midfielder has remained incredibly professional, continuing to contribute to his club’s top four challenge and quest to Europa League glory.
A number of names have been touted as potential replacement, but we appear to have found a new one in Fiorentina’s Jordan Veretout.
The information comes from Le Foot, who look at the former Aston Villa man’s situation at Fiorentina, as a number of clubs both in Italy and abroad (including the Gunners) are interested in him after an impressive second season with the Serie A side.
Scoring five league goals (the same as Ramsey has this season) in 27 Serie A appearances, the 26-year-old would provide Emery with similar versatility to the Welshman’s, capable of featuring anywhere down the midfield spine with relative ease.
Both creative and tenacious, Veretout would come at a price, however, as Le Foot believe €25-30m would be needed to open talks with Fiorentina.
The Frenchman’s first spell in England with Aston Villa didn’t go to plan, as the Villains were relegated, but with better players around him, greater experience from his time in Serie A and team more focused short passing, Arsenal could be a better fit.
This certainly makes some sense, but we’ll wait for further confirmation down the line before believing it too much.
