Following the disappointing attempt to sign Dusan Vlahovic in January, Arsenal have seen both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette leave the club on free transfers.

That means a new striker is a huge priority at the Emirates this summer, with many, many names being linked with a move to London.

They have ranged from the very expensive Victor Osimhen to the growing in stature Gianluca Scamacca, but the latest name to come out of Italy is both a lot cheaper and still prolific.

That man is Giovanni Simeone, whom Arsenal have turned their attention to, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Italian website have an article on Friday afternoon making it clear the Gunners have ‘entered the race’ to sign the Argentina international, who should be redeemed by Hellas Verona from Cagliari for ‘just over €10m’ before being ‘resold to the highest bidder’.

While clubs such as Juventus have taken some steps, ‘there is no lack of competition from Spain and Germany’, while other Premier League teams, like West Ham and Newcastle, have been linked in the past

Either way, he is destined to help Hellas Verona make more money this summer, and the believe is Simeone ‘will take off towards a big Italian or foreign team and an expected outlay of around €20m’.

Now, we need to wait and find out whether Arsenal are prepared to make that bid for a player who has many attributes to succeed in the Premier League and who scored 17 goals in 36 Serie A games last season.
