German outlet Bild on Thursday broke the news that Bayern Munich are not offering Jerome Boateng a new contract with the club.
The Bundesliga giants are looking to renew their squad and are not keeping the defender, who felt upset by not being told that personally. His current deal expires at the end of the season.
Bild also brings some interesting news on Boateng’s future, claiming that Premier League sides such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all following the situation.
They start by saying that the 32-year-old has always dreamed of finishing his career in MLS, where Inter Miami, Chicago Fire, LA Galaxy and the New York clubs could be his options.
Then they claim that a Bundesliga move to a club such as Hertha Berlin could be possible, but he’d actually feel better joining a side who play in the Champions League, and that’s where the Premier League comes in.
Bild has its own information saying Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are paying attention to ‘exactly is happening in Munich’, so we should soon get more news on whether will these clubs move for Boateng.
Of course it looks unlikely that Gunners, Blues and Spurs will all be in the Champions League next season, so that should be decisive for their attempts as well.
