Arsenal and Aston Villa have been credited with interest in Vitória Guimarães’ Ibrahima Bamba.
Last month, reports in the Portuguese press stated the 20-year-old’s agent had met the Gunners in London but this was denied by the representative. In the past few days, the Villans have been named as one of his suitors for the summer.
The Italy-born defender continues to be on Arsenal and Aston Villa’s agenda, according to Il Giornale, relayed by Calciomercato.
It’s explained the two Premier League sides will provide competition to Atalanta to secure the player’s services.
Bamba has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season. He has mainly operated as a centre-back but has been used as a defensive midfielder on a few occasions.
The versatile player’s performances seem to have convinced Mikel Arteta’s side, Aston Villa and the Serie A club as these clubs have ‘lined up to secure’ a deal for him after this season.
Bamba has a contract until 2026 and it’ll be interesting to see who among the three clubs would be able to sign the Vitória Guimarães defender in the summer.
