It seems Arsenal are now pretty close to completing a deal for the Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Martinelli.

According to UOL, the Gunners have now ‘advanced’ and ‘forwarded’ an agreement for the 17-year-old, who currently belongs to Ituano.

The website claims that Martinelli, who’s currently on vacation, has chosen Arsenal and will soon travel to Europe, where he’s sorting his EU passport so won’t have problems with a work permit.

UOL also claims that the striker should be presented by the Gunners in June, once he becomes 18 and will be able to officially sign for a European club.

The website says that while negotiating with Arsenal, Martinelli’s staff also offered the player to other Premier League sides. But none of the clubs were convinced to match Ituano’s demands like the Gunners were.

UOL didn’t get access to how much are Arsenal paying for the youngster. All they say is that Ituano wanted to keep a percentage of the player’s rights, but they obviously couldn’t do it as this is not allowed in the Premier League.
