Despite the many rumours we see every day in the Italian media regarding Antonio Conte’s plans for Tottenham Hotspur, we now find surprising claims about the manager’s stay at the club.

A short story from Calcio Mercato says the coach may not stay in London for much longer.

It’s said Conte ‘has not yet decided his future’. The manager wants ‘certainty’ about Tottenham’s future, and ‘above all’ wants to evaluate the club’s resources for investment.

And in case ‘alternative proposals’ come for him, there’s a chance he’ll look to terminate his contract, which expires in 2023 with an option for a further season.

Antonio Conte took charge of Tottenham in November 2021, and currently holds a record of 17 wins, three draws and nine defeats at the club.

What is intriguing about this story is that, despite the big news they’re bringing, Calcio Mercato only credits it to their editorial team and doesn’t highlight it on their website at all, as if it was just another one of their short pieces.

Now if the Italian media actually gets hold of this information, there’ll undoubtedly more noise about this rumour in the coming days.
