The Brazilian media continues to sound very confident that the City Group are about to complete the signing of Savinho from Atlético-MG.
Local reports say Manchester City’s owners are about to make the purchase for €6.5m, with another €6m in bonuses, while they still decide who he’ll play for in the coming years.
Now it turns out that the City Group already started moving for another player from Atlético-MG, according to new reports.
Torcedores says there are talks for the transfer of Yan Philipe, a 17-year-old midfielder. The negotiation is said to be in ‘initial stages’, as there’s no official bid yet.
The report claims the City Group first made an approach in December, and Atlético didn’t even want to listen. Now the group is monitoring the player’s evolution.
Yan Philipe is protected by a long contract, as even though that expires in 2023, it’ll be automatically renewed for two years once he gets promoted to the first team.
He has a release clause worth €56m.
It isn’t said how much the City Group are offering for the transfer, or if he’d have a chance to move to Manchester City instead of their partners. With talks open for Savinho, there’s certainly an easier communication for Yan Philipe as well.
