Ricardo Pereira was one of the players most linked with Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window. A fullback able to perform on either side, Pereira was an obvious target for Spurs when it became apparent Kyle Walker would be leaving the club.
With a reasonable priced release clause, although there’s been a little agreement about the actual amount, Tottenham were said to have made a €15m offer for the player who had been on loan in France for 2 seasons.
Porto rejected it and 24 year old Pereira has quickly become a major part of their team. Tottenham sent scouts to Porto several times in August as the Pereira situation was at its height, but since signing Serge Aurier, things went quiet.
Now, Tottenham are back. A Bola report the club had someone watch Porto’s draw 0-0 at home with Benfica on Friday evening. Pereira played and did reasonably well.
Another possible target for Tottenham, again a fullback, is Alex Telles, also 24 years of age, who is more a left side specialist.
Should Tottenham continue scouting Porto ahead of and into the January window then it may well suggest another offer is on the way for a fullback.
