Having managed to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray, Aston Villa will be very happy with their transfer window to date.
Their next step appears to be the signing of a left-back, with Lucas Digne in talks with OGC Nice to make a loan with an option to buy happen, but there is still some jubilation in Italy about the playmaker’s move to Birmingham.
The latest to laud the entire deal is his agent, Claudio Vigorelli, who spoke to Radio Sportiva and relayed by Calciomercato about the negotiations that took place.
He said: “When this opportunity came up in the Premier League with Aston Villa and Monchi, we worked with Galatasaray. It was hard to convince them, but it is the dream of all players to go to the Premier League. This was a great opportunity.
There were doubts towards the end of the transfer that Aston Villa could pull the plug after some concerns appeared during the player’s medical, but those were quickly sorted with a quick re-negotiation between the two sides.
The 24-year-old has arrived at Villa Park on an initial loan with an obligation to buy subject to certain conditions being met, although considering how important he was to Galatasaray, those should be rather straightforward for them to have agreed to the move.
