For those wondering, there’s a reason why we haven’t been heavily on the Denis Suarez situation over the past few days, and that’s because it’s just been much of the same.

Barcelona want to sell the player permanently, while Arsenal would much prefer a loan with a view to buy, fitting the trend set by Unai Emery’s comments prior to the weekend about the Gunners struggling financially on the transfer market.

Seemingly unwilling to compromise with the Premier League club’s offer, the La Liga side appear to be waiting for something better, which isn’t what Suarez’s agent has in mind.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira, said representative, which we assume is Felix Gende, is trying to force a move to Arsenal, asking Barcelona on Monday morning to let his client move to England, where he wants to play.

Talks were said to be ongoing, but as of 2.30pm UK time (when the tweet was posted) no agreement had been found.

If Barcelona really want rid, and Arsenal promise to pay up come the end of the season, it seems like a logical move for all involved, so perhaps common sense will prevail in the end.
