The agent of Stuttgart midfielder Alexandru Maxim has told the German media he has held talks with Leeds United with regards to the club signing his client.
Yesterday we covered reports from Germany that Leeds United are monitoring the situation with the Romania international after the player’s struggles to hold down a regular place in the Stuttgart team this season.
ZVW.de have reported on comments Herbert Briem made in which he confirmed he’s held informal talks with Leeds United over Maxim. Briem revealed the attacking midfielder is unlikely to move in this window, and that Leeds United are more focused on signing the player in the summer transfer window.
Maxim’s agent went on to say they are relaxed with the player’s situation despite his lack of opportunities.
“A possible change during the winter break is not favoured. They wanted to wait for the next window and then we will see which options are available in summer. We are very relaxed,” said the player’s agent on Leeds United’s interest.
Leeds United boss Garry Monk has been interested in the 26-year-old for some time following attempts to sign the Romanian when he was Swansea City boss, but it seems he may have to keep waiting to sign the midfielder.
