According to Fotospor, Leicester City forward Islam Slimani is looking to play with Besiktas in the second half of the season.

The Algerian international is currently on loan with Fenerbache from Leicester City.

As paraphrased by Fotospor, Slimani’s agent has reportedly told Besiktas board member Ahmet Kavalci his client will be a good fit: “Imagine him playing alongside Ricardo Quaresma. He could be a massive hit at the club. He can score a lot of goals from Quaresma’s crosses. You could be top of the league if Islam is in your side.

“He’s ready to drop his wages if he doesn’t score more than 10 goals. He believes he can do well at Besiktas.”

This paraphrasing is a very Turkish thing.

Fenerbahce are desperately trying to part ways with Slimani in the new year after he scored just one league goal since his loan move from Leicester City in the summer. This has led to criticism in the Turkish press and the player has been labelled as one of the Turkish club’s worst ever signings.

There have also been recent reports the Yellow Canaries have approached the Premier League side about sending him back, but this idea was instantly rejected by the Foxes.

Slimani joined Leicester City from Sporting but failed to make an impact during his time in England, including a loan spell with Newcastle United.
