Considering it’s one of the biggest stories in Italy these days, we’ve decided that, instead of covering each report separately, we’d give you a round up of Friday’s Felipe Anderson to West Ham stories in the local newspapers.
First off, we’ll start with Gazzetta dello Sport, who seem the most optimistic of the bunch, claiming the two clubs are ‘close’ to a deal following West Ham’s €30m + €8m in bonuses bid.
That isn’t deemed enough by Lazio and Claudio Lotito, who are said to want €40-45m for the Brazilian forward, but they still feel an agreement is just ‘a step away’.
Local Rome newspaper Il Tempo are a bit more pessimistic, believing West Ham have only offered €30m, which is some way off the €45m valuation.
Lazio are said to want that much due to the fact they’d have to give 25% of the sale to Anderson’s former club, Santos, and while a deal isn’t close, there is a belief the two clubs could meet somewhere in the middle.
That would make it around €38m…
Over at Corriere dello Sport, there’s a bit more adamancy, as the newspaper make it very clear that Felipe Anderson will leave Lazio this summer, and it’s between West Ham and Chelsea.
The asking price remains the only constant here, at €45m, since their version of the Hammers’ bid is €25m + €5m in bonuses.
All we need to do now is wait, as there’ll undoubtedly be more to come in this one over the coming days.
Bottom line is, Lazio want their money, and it seems they’re prepared to wait until they get it.
