Sunday’s edition of Tuttosport had a feature on Juventus’ possible incomings and outgoings this summer, and in central defence Toby Alderweireld got a very small mention.
It was claimed the Belgium has a 50% chance of moving to the Serie A champions, but there wasn’t really much more added and the Tottenham player certainly wasn’t the main focus of the story.
Fast forward to Monday and it’s a different story, with Alderweireld and Diego Godin being taken more seriously.
The Atletico Madrid defender is given a slightly higher chance of a move to Juve than his former teammate, with it being put at 60%.
Tuttosport believe Alderweireld will be leaving Tottenham, with a transfer seen as likely, although they’re not claiming he’s now any closer to Juventus.
Also being ‘in the sights’ of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, the cost of Alderweireld could be prohibitive for Juve given the player’s age, but Atletico are hardly going to let 32 year old Godin leave for a token fee.
Other options are Atletico’s Gimenez, Milan’s Romagnoli and Ajax’s De Ligt.
