At the weekend we covered claims from Mundo Deportivo that Liverpool are keen on a couple of La Masia’s current talents.
Abel Ruiz and Juan Miranda were both said to have received some sort of offer from the Merseyside club.
Ruiz is an 18 year old forward and the Catalan newspaper claimed Liverpool had used the recent U17 championships in India as a chance to speak to the player’s entourage.
Miranda, also 18, is a left back, and the Premier League club were said to be trying to ‘tempt’ the player away from Barcelona.
Wednesday’s edition of the same newspaper states: ‘now it is PSG who tries to fish in troubled waters and, specifically, has set themselves on Miranda’
Ruiz is also of interest to PSG, as well as 18 year old right back Mateu Morey, but it’s Miranda who is presented as the most wanted by the French club.
That puts them in a direct tussle with Liverpool, if the interest of both clubs is correct.
The Catalan media love to continually present a scenario of Europe’s big clubs trying to snatch La Masia players, and whilst some of the time it’s true, and these moves happen, sometimes it feels like a little paranoia has crept in.
