Earlier today, it was reported by Sky Sports that Watford wanted to sign André Zambo Anguissa from Marseille to help bolster their midfield.
However, the Cameroon international has slowly become an important player under Rudi Garcia, and weakening that area of the pitch was never in the Ligue 1 club’s plans, meaning they’ve had to look elsewhere.
L’Equipe on Tuesday are reporting via their journalist Bilel Ghazi that the Hornets have found the defensive midfielder they wanted in Sunderland’s Didier Ndong.
Furthermore, Sunderland are prepared to make a considerable loss on the 23-year-old, as L’Equipe also reveal Watford will be able to sign Ndong on a four-year contract, if they decide to do so, for just €8m.
The former Lorient star hasn’t been a regular face at the Stadium of Light recently, featuring just three times over the past 12 league games, recently managing to pick up a red card after 49 minutes in a 4-0 loss to Cardiff.
