Il Tempo have an article in their Saturday edition on the great sales at AS Roma, with the Serie A club almost desperately trying to get some money in before the end of the month.
It’s expected Emerson Palmieri is on his way to Chelsea and thought he could be joined by Edin Dzeko, but in their headline Il Tempo say Liverpool have made an offer for Alisson Becker and it’s been rejected.
In the Italian newspaper’s article there’s isn’t anything to add to that, and that’s not even an amount disclosed. Il Tempo simply repeat the line from their headline that Liverpool have made an offer for the goalkeeper and that Roma have knocked it back.
A move in the summer has been considered much likelier for the Brazilian, with the 25 year old himself not being keen on too much disruption ahead of the World Cup.
Whilst in England it may be assumed Ederson will be Brazil’s first choice, in Italy they think the Liverpool target has a really good shout.
It’s just Liverpool’s luck that one of the very few players Roma have got nailed down is the one they want.
Maybe if all of Roma’s other sales fail and Liverpool put a late offer in which includes one of their current keepers, even on loan, then Alisson will be edged towards the exit.
