It’s been up and down for Vincent Janssen at Fenerbahce, following his move from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Dutch striker joined the Turkish club on deadline day last summer and quickly became an important member of Aykut Kocaman’s squad, but now there are genuine injury concerns.
Fotomac have reported the 23 year old has been ruled out for another month. The Tottenham loanee picked up an injury against Bursaspor at the start of December, and hasn’t played since.
If these latest reports are accurate it means the Tottenham loanee’s toe injury will have kept him out for three months.
According to Hurriyet, Fenerbahce physio Burak Kunduracioglu has sent Janssen’s medical reports to Tottenham, and also to a leading orthopedics group in Germany.
The player’s desire for surgery has been rejected, explain the Turkish claims, because the affected area is very close to nerves, so doctors don’t want to take any risk.
This is a worry for Tottenham, both with the long term fitness angle and transfer value.
