Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son has given an interview to the Chilean version of AS this week.
The outlet managed to make all the chat about Chilean football, which surprisingly, the player had a fair bit to say about.
AS claims he didn’t really understand why the Chilean press wanted to speak to him, and then recalled a teammate he had at Bayer Leverkusen in 2015: “Aranguiz, no?”
Then he was asked if he rememered the midfielder: “Yes, I remember. We did not spend much time together in Germany because he got injured and then I left for Tottenham, but of course I remember”.
“He is a great player, I saw him working very hard to recover, and I enjoyed playing with him even if it was not enough time. I was happy that he did well, he is a great player and he will help Leverkusen”.
The 25-year-old also said he’s feeling “comfortable and enjoying every day at Tottenham Hotspur”.
The Chilean press can never forget their biggest star, so by interviewing a Premier League player, they had to ask the Tottenham ace about what he thinks of Alexis Sanchez: “I recognise that he has great qualities, it is difficult to talk about him of course because he plays for Arsenal, but yes, we must recognise that Alexis Sanchez is a great player.”
Finally, Son was questioned about what he knows regarding the Chilean national team: “I do know it. I know they won the Copa America twice, I have a lot of respect for that. It is a very difficult competition with Brazil, Argentina, and it’s a great team”.
And Son, who’s South Korean, played in Germany and currently lives in London, ended up having a decent interview about Chilean football. We bet you didn’t see that coming.
