On Wednesday, Portugal’s Correio da Manhã explained William Carvalho is ‘desperate’ to sign for West Ham United.
The player’s head is apparently already at the club, and it’s being reiterated the reason he isn’t playing is transfer related, not fitness or injury related.
On Thursday, O Jogo say Carvalho is currently filled with ‘anxiety’ over his potential move, but whilst he’d jump at the chance to sign for West Ham, and get his dream Premier League move, AS Monaco aren’t being ruled out.
If the French principality side sell Fabinho, likely to PSG, then Carvalho has been presented as the replacement option. Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim helped the player come through at Sporting, and the two clubs also have good relations.
O Jogo say a move to West Ham is still possible, but the club need to convinced Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho. The issue is not only the size of transfer fee, but how West Ham would pay it, and who is responsible for any extras.
