As you might have guessed, the problem isn’t the money, it’s more the fact Kalinic isn’t all that keen on returning to England, much preferring the option of staying in Italy in a league he feels very comfortable in.
Furthermore, the fact Vincenzo Montella, Milan’s manager, made it clear to him he would be an essential part of his plans has been a big factor in his decision.
Corriere explain the 29-year-old has already rejected offers from La Liga and the Premier League (which we can only assume includes Everton), and that doesn’t seem to be about to change anytime soon.
There’s still time, but maybe Ronald Koeman should start looking elsewhere if Kalinic is that determined to stay in Italy.
