Diego Carlos is interested in returning to Sevilla from Aston Villa, but his signing is ‘practically impossible’ for the Spanish club.

That’s according to journalist Máximo de la Cruz Ramírez Ramírez, who reports that Sevilla are not interested in a deal for him.

Reports in Spain have linked Carlos with a return to his former club, where he spent three years between 2019 and 2022 before joining Aston Villa for €31m.

He currently finds himself in a mixed situation at Villa Park, with 112 appearances totalling 953 minutes to date as he’s come in and out of Unai Emery’s squad.

That’s seen him linked with a potential return to Sevilla, who may be on the hunt for a centre-back sooner rather than later as Loic Bade continues to be linked with a big-money move away from the club.

Ramírez insists that is not currently on the cards, though. According to his information, while the Brazilian is interested in moving from Aston Villa, Sevilla are not as keen.

They consider any deal for him as ‘practically impossible’ and are not interested in him at this moment in time. Thus, there seems to be little chance of him returning to Nervión.

Of course, there’s plenty of time for that to change but for now, it seems the interest is one way and Sevilla won’t be reciprocating.
