At Celtic for two seasons, Logan Bailly only made five appearances, and they all came in his first year.
Still, now at Royal Excel Mouscron, the 31-year-old has no regrets about his move to the Scottish Premiership, leaving a comfortable spot at OH Leuven to test himself at a great club.
Admitting this to Sport/Foot in Belgium in a lengthy interview, Bailly is now doing his best to return to regular first-team football with his new club, using his Celtic Park experience to his advantage.
Understanding exactly why Brendan Rodgers, who was looking to beat all the records at Celtic, didn’t want to rotate his team, the goalkeeper was expecting as much when he signed for the club in the first place.
He said: “I knew from the off it wouldn’t be easy. To be a regular over there, it was a big challenge, and I’m the one who wanted it.. When you receive an offer from a club like Celtic, obviously you don’t hesitate, and I didn’t.
“That, no one can take it away from me. Few footballers can say they spent two years in that kind of club, winning trophies along the way. Until my dying day, I will be happy to have been there. Even when you’re not on the pitch, Celtic remains a brand known around the world.”
Describing his two years with Celtic in Glasgow as ‘incredible’, Bailly loved every bit of his time there, and won’t let anyone take his medals away from him, even if he didn’t play all that much: “We win together and we lose together.”
