Paolo Hurtado is really liked at Vitória de Guimarães. Since joining the club on a short loan from Reading in January 2016, the midfielder has pleased the Portuguese club, and convinced them he should spend another year there.

The player has just returned to Reading, but Vitória already want him back. The one-and-a-half-year loan wasn’t enough, and the idea is to count on him for more time.

The problem, as reported by A Bola today, is that they don’t want to spend much on him. The first issue is his Reading salary, which is way too high for a medium-sized Portuguese club to afford. And there’s also the contract with Reading.

A Bola explain Vitória are now waiting for Hurtado to be released. It’s not claimed if it’s something in progress, or even likely, but that’s the only way the club could sign him for now.

Unless, of course, Reading would loan him out until his contract expires next summer, although it seems very unlikely.
