Manchester City’s Txiki Begiristain spotted hugging Hugo Viana – Meeting with replacement

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain has been spotted at Sporting Club de Portugal meeting with his replacement Hugo Viana.

Record provide photos of Begiristain at Alcochete today, watching the UEFA Youth League game between Sporting and Manchester City.

They say that while he was there, he ‘crossed paths’ with Viana, the man who has been hired to take his place at Manchester City to replace him next summer.

He was also in the stands to watch the game and the two reportedly exchanged a hug and a few words before going their separate ways. They also have exclusive photos of the meeting, although there’s no indication of how long it went on.

The newspaper seems to suggest that the Manchester City chief only briefly met with his replacement, and this was a chance encounter between the pair at the youth game.

Either way, it was an interesting crossing of paths for the duo and a chance to see Manchester City’s past, present and future all in one moment, at least when it comes to the man in their director of football position.
