Scott McTominay featured for Manchester United against Brighton at the weekend in what is increasingly looking like a farewell appearance.

Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed that there’s an agreement in principle between the Red Devils and the Partenopei about the Scotsman’s transfer fee.

Some final pieces of the move are being put together before the player flies to Italy for his medical tests.

McTominay’s agents are speaking to Napoli about the commissions they will earn from the move and they are speaking to Manchester United about severance pay in the deal.

That likely refers to the midfielder earning less at Napoli than he does at Old Trafford and therefore wanting it made up.

When these agreements are ironed out, McTominay will be free to have a medical with the Naples club.

Napoli boss Antonio Conte is ‘waiting’ for the midfielder and he has keen on signing the player for many days now, as he also awaits moves for Romelu Lukaku and Billy Gilmour to complete.
