Sometimes a player only needs to be in the right environment to thrive and for Giovani Lo Celso that appears to be Real Betis and not Tottenham.
That’s at least according to Mucho Deporte, who say the midfielder ‘puts on a Superman suit’ every time he wears the Betis shirt.
Celso returned to Betis in the summer after a miserable few years at Tottenham in which he’s failed to live up to his price and even ended up out on loan.
The Spanish side had long wanted to bring him back to the club after his previous spell with them, during which he had established himself as a firm fan favourite and subsequently admiring glances from Tottenham.
They’re happy that he’s back and it seems so is the midfielder, with Mucho Deporte reporting that he has ‘found his place in the world’.
This is backed up by the stats, which show his offensive production at Betis is six times what he has managed at the other teams he’s played for.
His return to Betis appears to have proven to everyone that he’s a ‘top footballer’ once again, including himself, and he’s keen to prove it after his miserable spell at Tottenham.
With him on the field ‘everything went better’ for Betis, proving to be vital in the win over Leganes to start off on the right foot. He then followed that up against Getafe, a game in which he ‘puts on a Superman suit’, bags two goals and secures the win for his side.
It’s all super positive, with Betis delighted to have him back and the player seemingly enjoying himself once again because of it.
