Salernitana sporting director Angelo Fabiani has told the Italian media Massimo Coda’s future at the club could be out of his hands. Coda has been linked with a move to Leeds United if he leaves the Serie B side this summer.
The Italian said it’s too early to predict if players will leave the club in the next window, but there are plans to discuss Coda’s future. Fabiani revealed if it was up to him, Coda would stay at Salernitana, but that’s not guaranteed.
“It is premature to talk about players, the club at the end of season will plan the future and will summon the parties. I would keep him, but my contract will expire next June,” said Fabiani
Earlier this week Coda’s agent said he hoped Salernitana kept to their word and allowed the player to leave this summer after being linked with Leeds United and Serie A clubs.
Last summer it was claimed Leeds United made a last ditch attempt to sign Coda. Officials from the club reportedly travelled to Italy to hold transfer talks for the forward, but a deal never materialised. More recently there were claims the Championship side were still interested in Coda following comments made by his agent Beppe Galli.
