Club’s negotiations with Rangers ‘almost done’ – ‘Large bonuses’ aid Ibrox exit

FC Twente are ‘almost done’ in their negotiations to sign striker Sam Lammers from Glasgow Rangers.

That’s according to Voetbal International, who report that the striker’s departure from Ibrox is nearly completed, and FC Twente have ‘almost secured’ his signature.

Twente have been closing in on a deal for Lammers this week after it was made clear he was not a part of Philippe Clement’s plans moving forwards at Ibrox.

They detailed how Rangers were keen to move him on, and get rid of his wages in particular, and so Twente had made their move to get him ahead of potential competition in the Netherlands.

It had been unclear whether they were pursuing a loan deal or a permanent transfer, before reports yesterday indicated it would be the latter and Rangers would eventually make most of their money back on the striker.

VI back this up, stating that Twente will be signing Lammers on a permanent basis from Rangers and will pay a fixed fee of €2.5m. Due to ‘large bonuses’ included in the deal, though, the actual amount could be much higher.

A deal has now been agreed regardless and is now in the final stages, with the two sides ‘almost done’ in terms of negotiations and the striker set to sign a three-year deal in Enschede.
