Rami Al Hajj joined Plymouth Argyle from Odense in the summer and the 23-year-old has already shown that he can hold his own in England.
He has played five times in the Championship, scoring once and he has started the last three games for the Pilgrims.
Al Hajj has now spoken to SportBladet about his short time at Plymouth and he was also asked about Wayne Rooney and the impact that he’s had at the club.
He revealed that he just felt right when the Championship side came calling, saying: “It felt right when you heard what plan they had for me.
“I have had many scenarios in my head, but now you feel that you are close to the Premier League.”
While Al Hajj is confident that the top flight is not too far, he does feel that Rooney will play a key role in that growth because he is bringing the best out of the squad.
“It feels like he knows how to get the best out of his squad. He knows the qualities of his players and gives them freedom, while everyone knows their responsibilities.”
When asked about the manager’s main strengths, the midfielder said: “He is very calm, but he knows what to say and how to convey it.”
The Pilgrims have won three games so far in the campaign and are only five points behind sixth-placed Watford.
