Glasgow Rangers striker Sam Lammers is unlikely to move to FC Twente this summer, as his Ibrox wages make a move prohibitive.
That’s according to journalist Leon ten Voorde, who reports that the Rangers striker is unlikely to be targeted by the Dutch side.
Lammers has returned to Rangers this summer after a successful loan spell at FC Utrecht in the second half of last season.
He made the move back to the Netherlands after falling out of favour under Philippe Clement, who seemingly made it clear the striker was not a part of his plans and therefore free to go.
FC Twente have also been credited with an interest in the Rangers man as they too look for a forward, with him and the likes of Wout Weghorst reported to be on their shortlist.
Like with the Burnley man, that looks unlikely, though, and Ten Voorde reports it’s because of the wages that Lammers currently picks up at Rangers.
“He earns such a salary in Glasgow that he doesn’t even come to talk in Enschede,” he is quoted as saying on the AD Football Podcast.
