Speaking to reporters after Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Middlesbrough last night, Diego Costa wasn’t afraid of commenting on the possibility of leaving the club in the summer.
The striker gave an interview to ESPN Brasil, and although most of the talk was about the next few games which should give the club the Premier League title, he was also asked about his future.
“But I’ll leave to where I want. It’s not because China is here that I’m going to China. May I go? I may. May I go somewhere else? Of course I may.
“But the future depends on me, not the best bid for Chelsea. I have to see my side, so people talk a lot.”
Recent rumours from Spain have said Costaalready agreed a move to Tianjin Quanjian, as accepting the deal in a London restaurant. But given his confidence when speaking about his future, you would say nothing is done yet.
Costa has 20 Premier League goals for Chelsea this season and is on his way to winning his second league title for the Blues. Saying that “people talk too much” is not something new for him, as he used the same argument when ruling out a fight with Antonio Conte earlier this season.
